Where's spring?

KM @ 8:21 PM

So I woke up on Friday to seeing some snow falling and wondered if this was like the movie – Day After Tomorrow and I’d have to turn on the oven and burn books to keep from freezing.

The past two weeks Jen and I have been doggy sitting for a friend and it went very well. My cats only freaked a little and their behavior didn’t change too much. I noticed they didn’t zoom and play too much but they still ate, slept, and purred. But I had a feeling they always had one eye on the dog. The dog, Snickers, was really great with the cats. He didn’t try to bug them and didn’t have much interest in them. In fact, he seemed to be sometimes just as wary of them as they were of him. At night, the cats slept on the bed and Snickers wanted to as well. He’d walk in, sit at the foot of the bed, whine a little, then jump up look around, whine some more, walk away and come back later to see if the cats were still there. Eventually, he’d either jump up and sleep on the bed or give up and sleep on the couch.

It was really fun to have a dog and made the house a little more amusing here and there. Once Snickers got over his mopey and sighing phase he was playful and wanted to be pet. Jen squished his head and picked him up once to give him a big hug. He took it well, even though he isn’t a fan of being picked up, and liked the attention. On walks he was really funny and had to inspect EVERYTHING.

Last weekend I went to a show with Jen down in SOHO. It was a burlesque show and really wasn’t what I had expected. It was so campy like a sideshow act at Coney Island. The girls would dance, sing, and do really funny things as they showed the world their pasties and glitter makeup. On the way home I said something like, “I wonder if when their moms and dad signed them up for ballet and tap dancing, they thought their kids would be doing this.” It was really fun and I definitely would go again. It is super super funny.

I bought Milk on DVD and have yet to watch it. Just haven’t had the time or energy to sit down and watch this type of movie, but I want to. It was so awesome. If you didn’t see it – you should.

Anyway, here’s a few pics of Snickers:

Here’s a vid of Snickers running around like a nut:

busy

KM @ 5:07 PM

My weekends have been packed for the last 5 or 6 weeks.  I’ve gone to see a play, They Might Be Giants in concert, went to the Museum of Sex, hanging out with friends, and seeing movies, and just… being busy. Last Sunday I went to an HRC event and watched the last episode of the L Word with god knows how many other people in a club.  It was pretty funny – I mean it was hard to hear the show but the reactions from the audience of  “oooooooo” and clapping and yelling when some couples or characters did things was pretty amusing.

I also had the flu for a week which was unpleasant and sucked.

However, I have been taking pics and not posting them so here they here:
